Well, it’s happened. I’ve turned 22, and you can bet I spent the entire day singing and dancing to Taylor Swift, eating more food than you would have thought humanly possible and entertaining parisians and tourists alike as I twirled my way down the Champs Élysées.
21 has been a strange year – I travelled, finished my degree, worked, moved to the other side of the world, left the place I moved to, and ended up a little more lost than I thought I would be at this stage of my life. When I was about 6 years old I honestly thought that at 22 I would have a house, a husband and kids – looking at my life now, that’s a good joke. It’s crazy to think that my Mum married my Dad at 21 – I know it was a different time and that we’re different people, but I’m still not even 100% sure what I want to do with my life, let alone ready to get married – my life is a bit more Bridget-Jones-all-by-myself than that! I’ve always been extremely determined and ambitious, but there are so many things I love to do that I’m still trying to figure out how to incorporate them all together and create the life I want – I’ve got some ideas and am currently trying to do everything I can to get to where I want to be, so fingers crossed that with hard work and a little bit of magic, it will all come together.
I may not know what the future holds, which for an over the top control freak like me is a bit difficult to handle, but I’m excited to see what’s to come. Hopefully 22 is filled with many more moments like this – one of the most incredible sunsets in one of my favourite cities in the world, spent twirling in a tutu with one of my closest friends after eating way too much dessert (which is an oxymoron, if we’re being honest- there is no such thing as too much dessert). Because really, what more do you want in life than amazing views, dear friends, good food and pretty clothes?
Speaking of pretty clothes – can we talk about how amazing this clutch from P.S. Besitos is? I have always loved books (if you can’t find me or don’t hear from me for a few days, it’s highly likely I’m curled up somewhere with a good book), so when I first saw these book clutches on Etsy I fell in love. Winnie the Pooh and his pals are so dear to me, and the books have always been my favourites, so when I saw this clutch I knew it had to be mine. I also love this blue Winnie the Pooh one, this Peter Rabbit one and this Alice in Wonderland one.
